OMG have you seen Star Trek yet? Go, go now!

I went to Dr. Sketchy's last week with the model LiiLii Lipstick! It was very fun. They always have the sessions on Monday night when I've had classes so I've never been able to go, but classes were over so I was able to go. Unfortuantely now I'm leaving town! Bummer.

Here are my favorites from the night.

So Dr. Sketchy's has contests where you get a drawing prompt or challenge and compete for a prize. One of the challenges was for a munny doll and the challenge was to draw Captain Kirk hitting on the model (because the new Star Trek movie is awesome). Not only had a I seen the movie the Friday before (and last night too o_O) and totally loved Captain Kirk, but I really, really wanted a munny. So I said "Hells yes I am winning this." And I did.

I'm thinking of making the munny into Spock because Spock is awesome. Like I never had any idea that Spock was so awesome. Why didn't someone tell me this?

And I colored a sketch because I am cool like that.

The moral of the story is to go to Dr.Sketchy's.

And when he had to go there were roses growing in the snow.

Once upon a time a young girl went to art school dreaming of making comics. When she got there she discovered she really liked book illustration and forgot all about comics until one day she realized she was graduating and probably should get on that sequential art thing. No pressure.

So here's my comic Roses in the Snow inspired on a Nico song that was a bonus track on the CD release of the 1969 album The Marble Index. The song didn't have a narrative so I just made a song based on what came to mind with the lyrics... The sad, sad weird lyrics.

Still alive and kicking

Ryn has a real website! Its still in its infancy/toddler phase, but its very lovely none the less. It was designed by a graphic designer/web designer friend of mine. My portfolio is available there because I know you can't get enough of me.

I went to free comic book day :3 I picked up some free things, but I just ended up buying up some Deadpool stuff and that Batman Gotham Gazette thing (because I really like the cover Dustin Nguyen made for it. Too bad they covered my favorite part when they put the title on.) Here it is on his DeviantArt page. I also bought a Jim Mahfood graphic novel, which was really exciting. I reeeeally like his work. <3

Any way, here's what I did Friday, reworked an old piece. That tree was so much fun.
